Sensory profile A visually-intense profundity impresses for the near-impenetrable ruby that nearly masks an elegantly vibrant amethyst, giving it overall a complex, aristocratic appearance. That regal entrance is fully matched by the stately, hieratic entrance of the bouquet, which displays a generous array of impressions at every sensory moment. Escaping a hooded protectiveness are nervy essences of tanned leather, crushed olive, cigar tobacco, and prune liqueur. Palate and nose march closely in tandem, so that these aromatic expressions continue their impact well beyond entry, the dense fruit-liqueur melange broadening and advancing to soothe and caress the taste buds with sensations of juice-rich fruit enriched by a subtle touch of toastiness. The rich, sensory current offers a harmonious wealth of essences encountered on the nose, but now elevated to the plane of spirit and preserves and enlivened by a vein of earthy minerality. Prior to swallowing, beautifully-evolved tannins waft upwards, fine-grained and succulent, followed closely by a finish laced with near-endless almond and dried plum.

Pairings Meat will be an outstanding pairing to this intense wine, especially if stuffed or grilled.
